101st Post and 101 Things to Do

This is my 101st post! Woohoo! To mark this milestone, I plan to not only listen to the Depeche Mode album of the same name, but I also joined the Day Zero Project. According to the website, “Day Zero is a place to record your goals, discover new challenges, and gain motivation to achieve them.” In other words, I created a list of 101 things I want to do in the next 1,001 days. Because as we already know, I am clearly insane. (many thanks to my friend Stoopmama for the inspiration! The Day Zero Project inspiration, not the insanity inspiration. Am I a Quitter? A Failure?

Is it the end of the road? Or just the beginning?

I hate failure. I am super competitive and when people doubt me, I love to prove them wrong. Being content with mediocrity is for wussies. (There. I feel better now that I have that off my chest.)

These sentiments are top of mind for me right now as I struggle with a personal dilemma and attempt to make a decision for which there is (probably) no right or wrong answer. However, regardless of the outcome, I am sure that I will end up being disappointed in myself.

A “Life After Normal” Year in Pictures

Happy New Year! As part of my effort to lead a more balanced life and to re-engage my creative side, I am going to embark on a photographic journey, of sorts. I am committing myself to the “365 Project“: a picture a day for an entire year. While I won’t be blogging each and every photo (as I think that would be annoying), you can see each day’s image by clicking the “Photos” button at the top of this page, on my Flickr page or through my own personal 365 Project page. I will also Tweet each one – you can follow me at @lifeafternormal. While I am guessing I will capture most photos on my iPhone, hopefully I will take my old Nikon D70 DSLR out a bit more often.
