Flying Solo

Yeah, it will be really hard to take in this kind of view without anyone to enjoy it with. Yep. Poor me.

In a few short days, I will be heading out of town for a week of sun, sleep, spa, and (hopefully) total and complete relaxation. Vacation! It cannot get here quickly enough. I am sure I will have a blast, and how can I not? I’m going with me, myself and I. No one else.

Crazy, right? Am I INSANE?? Or is this just a reflection of my “sad and pathetic” life?

I’m not sure why there is a stigma to traveling and vacationing alone, but I couldn’t be happier about it. Call me insane, call me sad, feel sorry for me, I don’t care.  Because I will be answering to no one. Doing whatever I want to do without any need for compromise. Focusing on such rigorous activities as flipping over every 30 minutes to ensure an even tan. Setting an alarm only to remind myself it’s time to go to the spa. Reading crazy numbers of books and magazines for as long as I want to.

Yep. Poor me!

Don’t get me wrong, I love traveling with friends too, and have a trip planned in January with a group of girls to celebrate a milestone birthday (no, not mine!). But please, save your looks of pity. Don’t ask me if I am all right. I am! And I look forward to writing about it and sharing a few photos along the way.

Happy Thanksgiving indeed!!

  1. I honestly think it is great that you want to vacation on your own. You can do whatever you want whenever you want. Have a great time!!
