The Puppy Ate My Blog Posts!

Last Monday (or I guess two Mondays ago now), July 23, was my birthday. Happy birthday to me! In the midst of finalizing an (obviously) eloquent post about what I’ve learned throughout the year, how I adapted to all of my life changes, new goals and resolutions (blah blah blah, boring boring boring) my life was thrown for a complete loop. That post still remains drafted an unfinished, and many other projects of the personal and professional nature were immediately put on hold as well. Like it or not, my life has changed. Completely.

Yes, folks, it’s true. I got a puppy. A (now) 12 week old, 4.5 pound chihuahua mix rescued from a hoarding situation. Meet Pippa, Duchess of Tisney! Part Mexican jumping bean, part monkey, all love and licks and cuteness.

Yes, I have heard it all. “Are you kidding? What the hell are you doing? Do you know how much work a puppy is? Are you insane?” Really. REALLY?

It’s a new phase of my life. I’m getting ready to move into a new home, am taking my business(es) in new and creative directions, and am living my life to the fullest. Now, with a teeny tiny canine companion.

So housebreaking is in progress, meaning I clean up her business all over the apartment. The cats are adapting — Dash and Pippa have quickly become partners in crime, while Pixie has embraced her ability to growl and hiss. Training will be taking place as soon as she’s up to date on all her shots. So yes, life has changed — but who says change can’t be good?
