Give Back, My Visually Impaired Friends!

I’ve worn glasses for 20 years now, although my preferred method of vision correction is contact lenses. Of course, I still have a few prescription glasses – regular and sunglasses – for those times when I go without the lenses.  I was recently cleaning out my bathroom drawer / disaster area and discovered an old pair with a prescription so outdated they were useless to me.

What to do? Reuse, Reduce, Recycle … DONATE!!There are many organizations that accept donated prescription eyewear. In the spirit of “Pay it Forward Friday” (I urge you to read Grey Matter Life’s post on this topic, courtesy of my friend Jennifer) I donated these glasses and am glad that someone less fortunate will be able to see a little more clearly (and look incredibly stylish too – they were really cute frames!!). I urge you to take a moment this weekend to see if you have a pair of glasses that you can donate as well. To make it easy for you, below are a few organizations that accept used eyewear – make sure frames are in a case and / or padded envelope.
